Q.U.B.E. Demo – Are you fucking kidding me?

I just downloaded and played the demo of Q.U.B.E.. I will just now provide you with the trailer in order to see which game already has me in rage after 16 minutes of counted steam-time.

I’ve downloaded those 300Megs of sh*t just minutes ago. I started the game and it got its graphics setup to „my grandma’s pc“ which was 800×600 fullscreen with all graphics options disabled. So I applied a reasonable resolution and activated windowed mode.

After the starting sequence in which about nothing happened I saw that there was no Anti-Aliasing. I enabled it (8x) and nothing happened. Then I restarted the game and had to live through the starting sequence again. And again Anti-Aliasing was not applied. This game looks horrendous without it. This game has a lot of cubes and therefore a lot of edges. If just one of them would be smooth it would be very much appreciated (you can look at a screenshot below).

So then, after fiddling around I allready had 10 minutes on my steam-clock. Finished the demo within 5 minutes. This was sooooooooo easy. There was not even a glimpse of what challenging gameplay could look like. I felt very much cheated out of 300Megabytes of traffic. I feel abused, raped, violated by that game experience.

And the field of view made me dizzy. I think I will not buy that game, after all.

Edit:

Seems like the Steam Forums do actually think the same way I do. People finished the full version in under an hour (which is way too short for some 15€ price tag). But the length would not be a problem but apparently the game is super easy. Now I understand why they thought „my grandmother“ was a good default setting.
